Swedish Christmas crackers
Smällkarameller is a typical Christmas craft kids always make in preschool here in Sweden. They are normally made from several layers of tissue paper wrapped around a toilet paper roll in happy colors. We made a simplified version with using just one layer of wrapping paper and scoring the paper before making the all the folds, so my kids were able to make everything them selves. They were so proud!
- Wrapping paper 40x 25cm
- Double sided tape
- Toilet paper roll
- Candy (optional)
- Paper scoring tool (optional)
Cut a piece of wrapping paper 40 x 25cm, score the paper with 1cm distance. Place the toilet paper roll in the centre and make a mark, this is where you should stop cutting the paper. Cut 1cm slits in the paper. Wrap around the roll and tape it. tie a string around one side and fill with candy, tie the other side. Done!
