Happy valentines DIY cards
Valentines day is not really big here in Sweden, and a lot of people are thinking it is just another commercial opportunity to buy and sell stuff we do not need…But I like the idea of spreading some love, without having to buy anything, so we made some Hand Heart Valentines cards to give to our loved ones. The inspiration came from “The house that Lars built” and if you want more Valentines day inspiration check out their blog for lots of cute ideas!
- Start with tracing your kids hand on to a piece of paper to make a hand template and cut it out. To make the heart template symmetric, fold a piece of paper and draw half a heart and cut it out. (For the templates I use normal copy paper)
- Fold a colored paper to create the hand card (it needs to be big enough to fit the hand). Place the hand template with the small finger to the edge of the fold and trace the hand onto the card. Cut it out (here the kids really needed some help)
- Trace the heart on a different color paper and cut it out. Write a name or a message on the heart and tape or glue it on the hand card.
- Done! Happy Valentine!
