Watercolor art

These cold winter months we are crafting a lot when hanging out all together inside. This is a fun and creative kids craft which we made in theese three steps: In the first step I showed them how to mix the watercolors, they learned how to use the paintbrush in a gentle way and the art of patience when waiting for it to dry. In the second step we made different geometric shapes and they got to practice using scissors when cutting them out. In the third and final step they got to play around, trying different combinations when creating their own masterpiece. When happy with the result, gluing it in place.

You will need:

  • Watercolor paper
  • Watercolors
  • Paintbrushes
  • A paint palette or a plate to mix colors
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Glue

About

This is a creative blog, to inspire others to make stuff and be creative with your kids. Trying not to get too caught up in the material consumer world and with a childlike playfulness explore play in a more creative way with a sustainable mindset. Don´t focus too much on the product, the end result, sometimes its about the journey itself. Dare to explore, to reuse, to try again, to fail and to have fun!  – Sofie
