A simple idea for a birthday party is animal balloons. I buy balloons from the balloon factory where you can buy single balloons in any shade of color you can imagine. This saves money and you can be more free when it comes to the colors and you only buy the amount you need.
If you buy additional balloon sticks you do not have to buy helium, they stand up anyway and its a nice give away when the kids are leaving the party to pick their favorite animal balloon.
For the eyes, ears, wings and other details I just use colored paper which you also can buy singles cheap. I attach the paper details with double sided tape.
For the leftover paper I cut paper leaves for decoration and made a colorful leaves paper garland.
Invites & Favour bags
Another super simple and cheap idea is to use ordinary unbleached brown paper bags and cards for the party invites and the favor bags. Here I made bear illustrations with a black sharpie and cut the top like a pair of ears. This is something the kids, depending on age of course, can totally help out with.
The kids love to help out and feel really proud to make invites for their friends!
Bear & Owl Cupcakes
For this party I made mini cupcakes instead of a birthday cake. This is a less messy option if you have small kids.
For the bear cupcakes i made chocolate cupcakes with chocolate cream cheese frosting. The owl cupcakes are spongecake with blueberry cream cheese frosting.
For the decorations you have to use your imagination in candy shop!
Bear: The ears are chocolate buttons. The nose is marzipan and melted dark chocolate. The eyes you can buy readymade where they sell cake decorations.
Owl: The eyes and beak are orange and white m&m´s. I have dripped dark chocolate for the eyes.
